History of this website

This is the third generation of this site. The first site was posted in 1996 and located at members.aol.com/xmtm/page1.htm .  This was later changed to members.aol.com/xmtm/homepage.htm and finally to members.aol.com/xmtm .  The earlier addresses reflects our early interest in the x-linked form of myotubular myopathy (and our lack of sophistication about how websites worked).  As the site grew and as our community of interest grew, we broadened our interests to all forms of MTM.    In February 1998, the site was restyled and moved from AOL to Hostserver. At this time the URL was changed to our new domain name, www.mtmrg.org . This version of the site, uploaded 24 February 1999,  contains extensive modifications and reflects the latest restyling.  As indicated on the What's New page, there have been regular updates and modifications to the site.

In late January of 2000, this site was mover from Hostserver to Verio where it resides today.  During this transition there were several days when the site was unavailable. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.

This site is hosted by the Internet hosting service, Verio.

Miscellaneous technical stuff about this website.

This site was created and is managed with Microsoft FrontPage 98.   The page makes extensive use of the MS FrontPage server extentions.  This is how someone with middle-of-the-road computer expertise (i.e., Gary)  was able to create a bunch of the neat stuff (like the Search Pages and the Discussion Group) on this website.   Other Microsoft Programs such as Image Composer and Photo Editor were also used.

  • The Primary Font is "Times New Roman."
  • The Title Font is "Andy."

The banner at the top mtmrg.jpg (31884 bytes) was created with Microsoft Image Composer Version 1.5. The fonts in the banner are "Andy".
